Kangana Ranaut recently shared a mysterious post on her Instagram story addressing the challenges faced by 'women-centric cinema' and why it struggles to achieve success at the box office. In the post, Kangana emphasized the impact of hindering such films and pointed out the difficulties they face in gaining traction with audiences. Although not naming anyone directly, Kangana's message is believed to be directed towards Alia Bhatt's movie, Jigra. The film opened to a modest start at the box office, earning approximately Rs 3.58 crore (net) on its first day across all languages in India, according to reports from Sacnilk.
Previously, Kangana had also expressed criticism towards Alia's film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' before its release, questioning the casting choices and projecting a bleak future for Bollywood as long as certain influential individuals maintained control in the industry. In Jigra, Alia Bhatt plays the role of Satya Anand, a determined young woman on a mission to rescue her brother, Ankur Anand, who is imprisoned and facing imminent execution. Satya's character reflects unwavering resolve as she endeavors to free her brother from captivity.
